Day Two: How to Live Your Kingdom Purpose

Thought of the Day: Your Kingdom purpose isn't about a destination; it’s about a direction. As you align your soul with Christ, every step you take is towards fulfilling your Kingdom purpose in this generation.

Acts 13:36 (CSB )For David, after serving God's purpose in his own generation, fell asleep, was buried with his fathers, and decayed,

Acts 13:36 was a life-changing verse for me. "For David, after serving God's purpose in his own generation," King David's life exemplifies what it means to live a life that seeks first the Kingdom of God. This verse added a foundation to the fact that everyone in Christ Jesus has a Kingdom purpose in their generation. Let me share with you some critical components of knowing your Kingdom purpose.

Knowing Your Kingdom Purpose is Connected to Your Identity in Christ

Galatians 2:20 (CSB) I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Your Kingdom purpose is rooted in who you are in Christ, not how this world identifies you. Kingdom living is a radical redefinition of who you are. Living your Kingdom purpose is not just a theological concept; it's a battle cry for Christians to wake up to the reality of their new identity in Christ. It's a declaration of war against the lies and labels the world tries to impose on us. In Christ, you are not who the world says you are; you are who God says you are. Your past, failures, successes, or social status do not determine your true identity.

It's Not a Destination It's a Direction

Your Kingdom purpose is not something you need to go out and find; it's already within you, embedded in your new identity in Christ. The world tries to label us by our jobs, our successes, our failures, or our social status. But in Christ, these labels lose their power. We are no longer defined by what the world thinks of us but by what Christ has done for us and in us.

Understanding this is crucial because it's from this identity that your Kingdom purpose flows. Your purpose in God's Kingdom is not to conform to the patterns of this world, seeking validation and approval from fleeting and unstable sources. Your purpose is to stand firm in the truth of who you are in Christ—redeemed, restored and called to a holy calling.

Let's be clear: this is not a call to a comfortable Christianity. Kingdom living is a call to a way of life that challenges the status quo, stands counter-culturally and values the truths of Scripture above the whims of society. Living out your Kingdom purpose means being rooted and grounded in the Word of God, unashamed of the gospel, and willing to stand alone if necessary.

As you live out this new identity in Christ, remember it's not about your strength or ability. It's about Christ living in you. It's about His strength in your weakness, His wisdom in your simplicity, and His righteousness in your brokenness. This is the essence of living by faith in the Son of God.

So, embrace this identity with boldness and courage. Be a living testimony of Christ's transformative power. Let your life be a beacon of His grace and truth in a world that desperately needs it. This is your Kingdom purpose – not to blend in, but to stand out; not to conform, but to transform; not to be silent, but to proclaim the life-changing message of the gospel through your words and actions.
